Using Google Analytics

What is Google Analytics? Simply to answer: Google Analytics can track your website and help you to analyze and provide you information about your website’s such as traffic report.

Google Analytics shows you how people found your site, how they explored it, and how you can enhance their visitor experience. With this information, you can improve your website return on investment, increase conversions, and make more money on the web. OK, now the important thing is how we should track my website ?

There are 2 parts of works to do:

 

Part 1: Create a new profile

Go to your Google Analytics account, if you do not have one, just sign one using your Gmail.

In Website Profiles summary page, scroll the web page to bottom, to find “Add Website Profile”, click it:

Select** Add a Profile for a new domain **

Enter the URL of the site you will be tracking, you have to make sure your site is http:// or https://

Click Finish. You will get tracking code which you have to use in the next part.

 

Part 2: Add the tracking code to your web pages

After above Part 1, you will get a new windows includes tracking code:

What you have to do is copying the tracking code, and paste the code to your each of web page. Normally, you should add it on the page’s Head section, “It should be added immediately before the </body> tag, and can be added by hand or through the use of templates or includes, if available.”, so if your site has a Header template, just paste the tracking code inside the head secton of the header template file.

Now Google Analytics can track your website.
