Windows 7 System Backup

We used some 3rd party software to backup our Computer OS system or disk images before. Windows 7 provides nice Backup and Restore function, so we can use it, also it provides system image backup feature. If we do not other special requirement, we can directly use Windows 7 backup and restore function.

We might have done the backup and restore before but we could not find, so this time let use record the entire Windows 7 backup process:

1: Search Backup in Windows 7 start panel to locate the Backup and Restore program to run it:

image 2: We have Windows 7 new installed, so it asks us to set up backup first: image 3: Now Backup program starting: image 4: It recommend using an external driver to save the backup files for more safe,  so we decide to use an external driver now, Note: you do NOT need to close the Backup program now: image 5: After an external driver plugged into our computer, we just click the Refresh button, now we see our external driver, select it and click Next button: image 6: Choose Let me Choose item to let us select target folder and select what we want to backup later: image 7: Choose files or folders which you want to backup. Note: the system image of drivers item has already checked on by default: image 8: Now we see the summary screen, you can see a repair disc might be required to restore a system image, Click **Save settings and run backup button**: image 9: Backup in progress now image
