I had registered to Windows Insider Program and installed a Windows 10 Preview edition. In July 29, 2015 I thought I could update to Windows 10 RTM from existing Windows 10 preview version but actually I got failed at that day, so I ignored the updating until yesterday.

This time I got updating successfully with normal Windows Update processing. I read information from other internet articles, seems they mentioned a Microsoft account must be used if update Windows 10 preview to Windows 10 RTM, but actually I did not, I only login to my Windows 10 local account and got the updating package downloading and installed successfully.

1: I login to my existing Windows 10 insider preview edition, and run Windows update in setting panel. the system told me it found TH1 professional 10240. I guess it is Windows 10 RTM professional version. but when I tried to download the updating package, I got a failed at first time, then I just click the Fix issues button, it worked.

image image 2: You have to wait the package downloading ends, then you will see the system is preparing to install the updating: image During the install, what you might have to choose is let the system config for you, you just select Express configuration, which might be the only option you can select currently, this was what I met. 3: So almost the entire updating does not need you to do something but just above config option, then you just wait; 4: After running some while, you will have to restart the Windows 10 system, do finish entire updating; image 5: After you click above Restart now button, you see this screen: image 6: The updating show the x% processing at separated places: entire processing and individual installing content: image 7: After the updating done, you will see the new login screen: image 8: System indicates that some apps are universal programs, which were rebuilt: image 9: This is the new default Windows 10 home screen: image 10: Check the system information, it is really Windows 10 Pro formal version now. image Note:  This is my updating process which was from existing Windows 10 insider preview version, if you have other different systems such as Windows 7, Windows 8.1, you should get different Windows 10 version based on your existing system, ie: Windows 7 will to be Widows 10 home, Windows 7 pro will to be Windows 10 pro…
