Create Software Shortcut in Windows 8 Desktop Mode

Not like traditional Windows software shortcut creating method, there is no a direct way to create a software shortcut in Windows 8.

Here we introduce how to create software shortcut in Windows 8 using mouse (without finger touch)

If you are in Desktop mode now, you have to switch to Metro mode and show “All aps” screen, find your software icon which you want to create a shortcut for, right click it, you will see there is a menu bar popup on the bottom of screen, select “Open file location”:

At the file location, right click the file, select Send to menu, then select Desktop (create shortcut) That’s it !
