There are different types of Visas to enter United State of America. Here we focus on the travel type.

For travel in US, normally you need a visitor visa, which is a type of nonimmigrant visa for persons who can temporarily stay in US.

There are 2 different visitor visas:

B-1: Nonimmigrant visa for persons desiring to enter the US temporarily for business;

B-2: Nonimmigrant visa for persons desiring to enter the US temporarily for pleasure, tourism or medical treatment

You can apply B-1, B-2, or combine of them according to your purpose of your planned travel to US.

Please note you might be eligible to Visa Waiver Program to US. There are 35 countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program currently, if your nationality is belong to those 35 countries, and want to go to the U.S. for tourism or business for 90 days or less , you might not need a visa. Canadian need a visa to enter US ?

Normally Canadian Citizens do not require a nonimmigrant visa if traveling to United States. However, Canadian Citizens still need to a visa if their purpose is the purpose which needs a visa to enter to US. You can check those information here(travel.state.gov).

However, Permanent residents of Canada need a visa. must have a nonimmigrant visa unless the permanent resident is a national of a country that participates in the Visa Waiver Program and eligible to visa waiver. Please check detail information here.

Visa:  Nonimmigrant Visas, non-petition based (B1/B2, C1/D, F, M, J, I, TN, TD)

New:   USD$160

Visa:  Nonimmigrant Visas, petition based (H, L, O, P, Q, R)
Old:   USD$150
New:  USD$190

Visa:  Treaty Trader Visa (E1), Treaty Investor Visa (E2), Australian Worker Visa (E3)  Old:   USD$390  New:   USD$270

Visa:  Fiancé(e) visas (K)  Old:   USD$350  New:  USD$240

The visa application fee, which is also called the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) Fee.

Apply a visa to US in Toronto:

In Toronto, there is a United Status Consulate General. which you can visit there. the address is:

Normally, you have to wait several weeks after you made an appointment. you can check current wait time online (from State Department website). We see the wait time is not bad when we write this post, it is 14 days.
